Sycamore Drive Estate
Reported via iOS in the Weeds category anonymously at 11:34, Monday 23 June 2025
Sent to Cheshire East Council 2 minutes later. Council ref: 7749277.
I would like to report significant overgrowth on the pavements and verges around Sycamore Drive Estate and also Warmingham Lane. Teasels and other tall weeds have reached well over head height on the pavements at the junction of Warmingham lane and Sycamore Drive, obstructing visibility for pedestrians and drivers and creating accessibility issues for anyone with limited mobility. The kerbs and footpaths are becoming unsafe, and the level of neglects causing concern amongst residents.
While I support pollinator friendly initiatives these areas appear unmanaged rather than intentionally maintained as wildflower zones.
Please could this be investigated and added to the upcoming maintenance schedule?
Many thanks

Thank you for your enquiry. Following a review on cost and effectiveness of weed spraying, we are not routinely spraying weeds on the highway. Instead, we review requests for treatment of weeds in channels, at the top of kerbs, in footways / alleyways (bordering a wall or fence), footpaths and link paths. As your request does not meet the criteria, no further action will be taken at this time.
We will continue to ensure the location is safe through our routine safety inspections which are conducted in line with our Code of Practice. More information is available on the following link:
