Giant Hogweed, which burns skin, is growing out of the roadside footpath/pavement and in the stile entrance to the public footpath in the field. Animals and children wearing shorts could be in danger if the brush up against or touch this plant

Thank you for your enquiry. Following a review on cost and effectiveness of weed spraying, we are not routinely spraying weeds on the highway. Instead, we review requests for treatment of weeds in channels, at the top of kerbs, in footways / alleyways (bordering a wall or fence), footpaths and link paths. As your request does not meet the criteria, no further action will be taken at this time.
We will continue to ensure the location is safe through our routine safety inspections which are conducted in line with our Code of Practice. More information is available on the following link:
