This is a public footpath Stile opposite the entrance to Briar Cottage.

Reported via desktop in the Fencing/Walls category anonymously at 16:17, Friday 25 April 2025

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 7482045.

The stile is on the boundary of a private field with sheep and the verge of Long Lane, Haughton. It is a considerable height above the road and steps up or down to it have become eroded. It makes it very tricky to get a human or animal down to road level from it. Its proximity to a busy lane make it dangerous if you slipped. It means that walkers have been using the farmers gate a few yards away and often it has been left open. Would it be possible to exchange the stile for a metal gate and repair the steps to it from the road?
