Grass verge outside 19 Earlsway

Reported via desktop in the Grass Cutting category anonymously at 17:40, Wed 18 December 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6878281.

Lorries/wagons, have driven over the verge, leaving deep tits. I have difficulty putting my bins out as the verge is so uneven. I actually fell over tonight. Can you please put a small bush or something on the verge to prevent the vehicles from driving over it? It looks a terrible mess

  • Parking on a grass verge is considered the same as parking on a footway. Where there are no waiting restriction parking regulations in place on the road or verge, enforcement can only be carried out by the Police; they are only likely to take action if the parking is causing an obstruction, for example where pedestrians, pram or wheelchair users are being forced into a busy road as a result of vehicles blocking the verge or pavement. To report obstructive parking to the police, dial 101.

You can find more information about grass verge enforcement on our nuisance parking and parking restrictions page below:

Vehicles causing an obstruction or parking inconsiderately on the highway where there are no restrictions in place must be reported to the Police. Obstructive parking can be reported via the non-emergency number, 101. It can also be reported online via the following link:

Issues such as the one which you have reported can now also be reported via the new Cheshire Constabulary link below:

We will continue to monitor this location as part of our scheduled safety inspections when any actionable defects identified which meet the criteria in the Code of Practice for Highway Safety Inspections will be recorded and dealt with accordingly. All inspections are conducted in line with the Code of Practice for Highway Safety Inspections which is available on our website via the link below:
