Side of carriageway/pavement immediately outside 61 Birtles Rd

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6869113.
For many months there has been a constant leak/trickle/puddle of water commencing immediately at the edge of the road at 61 Birtles Rd, then runs along the side of the road. This has been reported to United Utilities who have investigated twice, including excavation, and established that it is not their water. The water also has a blue film and ocasional froth which seems to indicate contamination. The leak is constant even in dry weather. It may be causing issues below ground (sink hole?) I reported the problem to a local councillor many weeks ago but no apparent action has yet been taken
This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Thank you for your enquiry. As we are experiencing severe weather conditions, only emergency cases will be attended where there poses a risk to property, public safety or high-risk highways.
Gullies vary in the speed they can drain water away and some will overflow during heavy rain even if there is no blockage. This does not necessarily mean the gully requires cleaning, and in such cases the water will clear when the rain stops. We will not visit overflowing gullies during heavy rainfall unless the water is causing a risk to life or property.
If you would like to know more about how we manage gullies and drains, you can find information here:
