A Street Sweeping problem has been found

Reported via desktop in the Street Sweeping category anonymously at 16:52, Thu 12 December 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6855407.

They are dangerously slippery with leaves Debris, plants , weeds and leaves mean the pavement is restricted to a narrow strip in places. Overgrown hedges which includes hawthorn and brambles restrict pavement use In walking the pavements is it impossible to pass people in the other direction meaning one person has to step into a very busy road. Prams force oncoming people into the road because there simply isn’t room for both. I walked it with small children during half term and not only are thorns at adult eye height they are also at child eyesight height which is highly dangerous. Small children require their hand holding near such a busy road and in places I had to push them infront of me to avoid being in the road. This is a busy road and having such restricted pavements means passing car wing mirrors are perilously close to pedestrians. Lorries take up a wide part of the road and oncoming cars drive very close to the kerb. When the lorry is approaching from behind, pedestrians are not aware that the cars will swerve to avoid them and at times they almost clip pedestrians with wing mirrors.

It is forcing me to use my car as a safer option to travel into town which is not only bad for the environment, it contributes to parking issues and is a less healthy option of travelling.

I think there must be a corporate responsibility to allow me to walk safely along pavements.
