75 London Road South

Reported via mobile in the Hedge/Tree Maintenance category anonymously at 10:19, Sat 30 November 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6802804.

The tree whilst is very attractive is a major safety concern. It is massively overgrown and has not been maintained. The branches are far too close to the residences. The tree needs scaling back to protect the residences and the general public and also the vehicles that use the busy main road. This is a particular concern with the more frequent storms we are now experiencing. Large branches have already dropped during the storms and it is only matter of time before a bad incident occurs.

  • The asset you have reported is not part of the adopted highway network so the Council is unfortunately not responsible for its maintenance. You can search for the roads we maintain on our website: https://maps.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ ce/ adoptedroadsgazetteer/ Home.aspx

A legal duty to maintain un-adopted roads still exists and this responsibility would fall to the owners of the road, which is typically defined as the owners of any properties fronting that highway or housing developer. It is advised that the residents of the properties meet to discuss the situation and consider how the matter can be collectively resolved.

We are unable to pass on details about landowners, but you can find out information about them through The Land Registry: https://www.gov.uk/ government/ organisations/ land-registry

State changed to: not the council's responsibility
