Slade Lane Mobberley
Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 13:42, Wed 16 October 2024
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6620405.
Thank you for your recent reply, twelve months after I reported the 3 blocked gullies on 24.10.23 - your ref. no. 5133282.
Now what are you going to do about my complaint of 15.8.24 - your ref. no. 6360602?
The risks you don’t consider are:
That in freezing conditions the constant flow of water across the road surface, especially where the camber changes, turns this lane into an ice ring as it never gets gritted.
This continuous flow of water helps potholes form and increase in size (especially in winter when it freezes) as the water penetrates at the edges of previously repaired potholes/patch repaired areas, where no waterproof sealant was used.
Vehicle tyres are being written off due to damage being caused when drivers don’t realize they are driving into a pothole filled with water, but just see it is a puddle on a wet road surface.
Stones from these potholes are left on the road surface by passing vehicles, causing a hazard to other highway users including: horse riders, cyclists and pedestrians, especially those pushing prams. Now you at Cheshire East, who we pay our council tax to, need resolve this long outstanding matter on Slade Lane and not just fob us off with excuses as to why you don’t permanently solve this problem of water flowing over the road service.
