I believe the drains were supposed to be cleaned, cleared and unblocked here on 10th October. (I received an email from the Council about the scheduled visit). The drains have not been cleared which then meets the road floods. I have reported the issue several times and someone from Highways said the 2 drains need kerb stones to keep the verges away. Last year, or the year before the drains were cleared for the first time we can remember and that is why they are now scheduled to be cleared each year. Can they please be cleared, cleaned and unlocked so the usual floods that occur across the road, don't happen. Thanks.

Gully emptying programmes are based on condition data collected during previous schedules, as well as criteria such as road type, volume of traffic, the proximity of schools, hospitals and transport hubs and known flood risk areas. This targeted approach to gully emptying means that not all gullies will be emptied every year. We will however attend to specific issues where gullies are blocked and causing a danger to highway users or flooding to property.
