Brereton Heath Lane & Surrounding Lanes

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 16:26, Tuesday 8 October 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6567315.

I find it unbelievable that the local petition of 2023 failed to result in Brereton Heath Lane & Surrounding Lanes having a speed limit. Of late Brereton Heath Lane, which has residential development along both sides for a considerable distance, has become a drag strip with vehicles turning off the A54 and accelerating aggressively creating noise and a dangerous environment for the local residents and those who use the lanes for walking (often in young family groups), cycling and horse riding. This is not limited to cars but includes delivery vans and even agricultural vehicles. Such a country lane was never intended to be dealing with this. I recently travelled the A535 from Twemlow towards Chelford and, although much less densely populated and with a better road condition, it has a speed limit of 30MPH in may parts, which would indicate an inconsistency in deciding on speed limits.
