Road flooding
Reported via mobile in the Carriageway category anonymously at 13:55, Monday 30 September 2024
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6533608.
Ref to case 5825201 which has been closed on the basis that the threshold/ risk factor for Gully cleaning is not met. Unfortunately, Gully cleaning is not the answer, I wish it were. The residents were advised by Officials from Cheshire East and United utilities that the issue is due to a drain collapse. This was identified during inspections / site visits in the Summer of 2020. At this time Gully cleaning was undertaken as there was a view that the issue was due to building development across the road, even though the issue pre dates this. The Officials advised the root cause to be a drain collapse from the gutter grid/drain to the centre of the carriageway outside 413.
There are many many reports submitted for this issue, and no matter how many times the road sweeping, gutter cleaning or similar activity is completed the road continues to flood, making it dangerous to walk on the pathway, cars speed through causing tidal waves, parked car wheels are submerged, filthy water is pushed up drives causing damage to block paving and walls. This situation was originally only on the Odd number side of the street, but it has now extended to both sides. It would really be appreciated if you could reevaluate and revert to the previous reports and actions noted in the past. Thank you
