Outside 17 Adlington Drive

Reported via mobile in the Carriageway category anonymously at 10:32, Thu 20 June 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6131695.

The manhole outside the house at base of the hill is subsiding/collapsing and is now about 3” lower into the ground than it was a few weeks ago. The tarmac structure around it is breaking up and is now loose. The cover itself now moves as traffic drives over it making a large banging noise . This is an area of subsidence that has been dealt with before and can be seen on the right of the photo. It has now become apparent around the centre of the road. I would say this is now becoming dangerous and close to structural failure around the cover.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
