Longstyle Farm entrance
Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category by Colin Humphreys at 16:10, Thu 23 May 2024
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 6012503.
This drainage grid is still blocked as are a high number of similar drainage grids on Linley Lane. After a month of little rain and now a day of heavy rain the problem arises yet again. I notice that the road surface here is breaking up. So what could have been a regular missed maintenance program could eventually be a major road repair. This is a very busy road and is becoming dangerous in this stretch. I wonder if a 40 ton vehicle starts to aquaplane a hundred metres from the junction traffic lights could cause mayhem. It’s just a simple job of cleaning the drains and gutters. The next grid at the entrance of Linley Road is full to the top with mud. It wouldn’t take much for an inspector to check these drains and arrange a clear out before the road surface deteriorates any more. As a walker I get drenched hours after the last rain by the flooding in this stretch.
