Back Lane, Basford, CW2

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Cllr Janet Clowes at 19:23, Wednesday 17 April 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5867202.

There is a clear, chronic water flow from the east-side fields, tracking across the road and then toward Swill Brook. This has impacted on the carriageway causing a deep and sharp-ridged pothole (the traffic cone is submerged to a depth of 5” in its current position but is deeper towards the verge.) On the west-side of the carriageway is a wider and longer accumulation of surface water which hides extended pothole development. Drivers are being forced to the centre of the Lane but avoiding the hazards is becoming increasingly difficult. At least 4 tyre and wheel incidents have been reported to me related to this location.
