Carriageway between 2 x bends on Watch Lane

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category by Philip Pritchard at 15:39, Sat 6 April 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5816232.

This problem was reported previously by myself and Moston Parish council. One Friday afternoon last month some contractors closed the road and tipped a lot of loose chippings in and around some of the potholes. The material being loose was washed away by the weather and traffic with a few days of it being left. Thus the major potholes have re-appeared exactly as they were previous to the so called repair. As stated previously because there is no defined edge between the road surface and the extremely muddy ditch, the edge of the carriageway is continually being eroded due to traffic trying to squeeze past each other and breaking away the edge of the road. The road is actually now in a worse condition than it was when it was reported by the Parish council. Anything other than installing permanent kerbside edging to prevent vehicles from driving off the edge of the road to pass each other will lead to the same issue recurring in a very short period of time. It is still therefore hazardous to pedestrians and cyclists who use this road as there is nowhere to stand safely when traffic is passing.
