SK11 7UG - Outside 5 Thornston Avenue

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 13:34, Thursday 4 April 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5806573.

The drains are blocked and flood each and every time it rains, this issue has bee present for the last 5 years at least since I moved to the area. They have been sucked out a year or so ago but the drains still floor; potentially the other drains in the area also need doing at the same time.

I witnessed a young mother have to walk into the road to avoid the water as it was too deep for her and her young child to pass through, as they tried to cross the road a car came within 6 inches of hitting them as the car entered the junction at quite a high speed and did not see them crossing, this could have been a serious incident.

An older (Fragile looking) lady was completely soaked from head to toe as a car came straight through the flooded drain water, it nearly knocked her over.

Stone and debris get flicked up and have chipped the cars on my drive.

Some progress on this would be very much appreciated.
