Footpath between gate for 3 Overdale Road to the carriageway.

Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 23:50, Tuesday 2 April 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5798564.

3 Overdale Road, Disley, SK12 2RJ has no off road parking. There are electric vehicle charging wires from the side of the property, out of the property’s front gate and across the footpath to charge the households two electric vehicles on the street. As there are multiple electric vehicles, there is almost always one charging up on the road.

The issue is that the vehicles and charging cable are blocking use of the footpath outside the property and forcing pedestrians to walk in the road, close to a blind bend & narrow rail bridge instead. Cable covers are placed across the footpath path between the gate and vehicles, however it is too high to get pushchairs and wheelchairs over (both of which are used by nearby households). The obstruction across the footpath has also caused someone registered visually impaired to fall over & injure themselves on more than one occasion.

The cable and cable cover are preventing use of the footpath by those with pushchairs, wheelchairs and sight issues - and the alternative option of walking in the road to get around that section of pavement is not safe. The hazard needs to be removed and access reinstated to that section of public footpath.
