Drains Outside 56 Buxton Road

Reported via iOS in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 20:04, Monday 8 January 2024

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5416127.

Since the “traffic calming” measures were put in place 6 years ago, these drains have been blocked. I’ve reported this several times over the years, it was in this state but was told by CE ‘all looks fine’. In heavy rainfall, the puddle spreads onto the main road surface and this section of pavement becomes impassable owing to the road spray. When it dries up, it leaves thick, smelly mud and god knows what else that’s at the road side - this is incredibly slippy for those needing to get into their cars. During colder months, this sludge/ puddle freezes solid making it again incredibly slippy and a hazard, but also freezes around the car tyres, making driving off dangerous. It’s not like we can park anywhere else in the meantime, seen as the addition of these “traffic calming” measures took away at least 12 if not more spaces from our road. It’s needs thorough cleaning and assessing urgently
