Walking on the right hand side of the road from outside number 9 Hough Lane towards the mini roundabout on Prestbury Road. There are two gully grids that are completely blocked with leaves and every time it rains the carriageway floods. Moving on from this grid toward the mini roundabout their is a similar grid on the same side near the roundabout also blocked.

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5377196.

I have reported this issue over the past twenty years on many occasions and nothing that alleviates the problem is carried out. I can supply photographs going back twenty years if you wish to see them. Just looking at the grids from the top they are completely filled with leaves. This doesn't surprise me as the road is rarely visited by a gully sweeper or grid cleaner. On every occasion when we get heavy rain the water floods the carriageway and a lake appears at an average depth of one to three inches. The grids simply cant cope with the water and a resultant flood occurs. One day i suspect there will be a serious road accident as oncoming motorists move into the opposite side of the road to avoid the flood water. The road was constructed as a lane , it is not a designated A or B road, but now carries heavy traffic at peak periods as other motorists use the road as a short cut to avoid the congestion on the A34. Its similarly not helped by drivers parking half on and off the kerb outside other properties along the road. In my opinion there is a fundamental issue regarding drainage in this section of the road and urgent remedial action is required. If you need any further information please let me know.
