A534 Sandbach Road on the Ash Grove side of the carriage way going into Congleton, approx 60 yds after the entrance to West Heath Shopping Centre.
Reported via desktop in the Noise or Vibration category anonymously at 12:23, Mon 18 December 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5333208.
Previous utilities repair to the carriageway has partially sunk leaving a drop in the road surface. When vehicles hit this at speed (particularly speeding heavy goods vehicles that are empty) it is resulting in a loud noise and vibrations. This is happening 24 hrs a day but is exagerrated at night when so many empty speeding heavy goods vehicles use this stretch of road. My daughter lives in Ash Grove adjacent to this problem and the constant noise/vibrations in the night are affecting her sleep, mental health and well being. We have spoken to other residents on both sides of the A534 adjacent to the road issue and all are similarly being affected by the noise/vibrations.
