Pavement outside No.12 Loxley Close SK11 8LH

Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 19:58, Mon 27 November 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5258838.

The footway outside our property is breaking apart, possibly from trees roots not from our property. It is deteriorating each day and causing a hazard for us leaving our driveway and for other pedestrian users and access. This has previously been reported, and you simply said it would form part of a programme of inspections and then just closed the report. Essentially, the report has just been ignored, and we have merely been pointed to the CEC website which does not help whatsoever. Please could you kindly advise properly and offer a response that gives more detail in terms of how this repair will be undertaken, and when we may expect it to be completed. Possibly after an accident has occurred? A more helpful response would be greatly appreciated that gives some indication of next steps rather than simply sending an automated template response and then closing the report. We would very much welcome your response. Regards.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.

  • We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.

State changed to: No further action
