Junction of Stoneley Road and Groby Road, Crewe
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 13:38, Thu 9 November 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5192895.
In 2006 I reported the dangerous state of this road junction and have copy letters to and from Bob Williams, Area Maintenance Engineer, Cheshire County Council, which states that work at this junction has been programmed for this (2006) financial year..... To date (November 2023) this junction has not seen any improvement. In fact it is worse - it floods regularly and is too narrow for two vehicles to pass safely, road usage has increased enormously since 2006 and new housing estates close by have made this junction far busier. There is no safe footpath either so pedestrians would have to walk in the road.
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
