The footway on the east side of the A34 t the south of Marton Church of St. James and St. Paul
Reported via mobile in the Footway category anonymously at 15:13, Wednesday 27 September 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 5037734.
The paved footway running in a southerly direction is of little use to pedestrians as vegetation has been allowed to grow over the metalled surface, and the hedge bounding it also severely intrudes in a vertical plane. Given that this is a very busy road with limited space for vehicles to pass each other yet alone pedestrians it is vital to the latter's safety that this footway is kept in a usable condition.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We have assessed the issue and added it to our improvement programme for repair over the longer term. This means we are unlikely to do any improvement work here during the current financial year. Our programmes sometimes change if more funding becomes available. You should check our website for any updates. You can find details of the work planned for this location and where it currently sits on the programme through our website: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ road-repair-programme
