Rose Villa. Burland. Nantwich. CW5 8LR

Reported via mobile in the Gritting and Grit Bins category anonymously at 13:39, Wed 16 August 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4898019.

I have attached the photos of the problem. I have lived in Rose Villa for 43 years and never encountered a problem with my car parked in the drive before. However my car has been parked in the same position for all the days that you were re gritting the road A 534 in Burland. It wasn’t moved. However to my horror yesterday my granddaughter got in the car at the back and said Nanny the window is cracked. The near side rear electric window in my Lexus R 450 H car has been hit by the grit and now has a 6 inch crack down it. I was horrified and scared it would shatter with my granddaughter there. I have phoned Lexus to ask the cost of replacing!! £173.88 + VAT for window and two hours labour @ £374.25. Total £582.91!! I cannot afford this as it wasn’t my fault I need Cheshire East to sort the problem. I have just been out to the chap blowing the grit from the path and he recommended emailing you. He contracts for Cheshire East. I am not at fault here. My car didn’t move. The gritting has caused me a massive bill. I have had the car over 9 years am proud of it and been careful. I’ve never had an accident and certainly assist Cheshire East with speed checking and litter picking along this stretch from Burland Bridge to the windmill. HELP I need my car mending straight away as I look after grandchildren and daren’t have them in the car incase the window shatters. Please assist immediately. Thank you. Judith Booth 07779 220330
