Weston Road, Crewe, on the approach to the A5020/David Whitby Way Roundabout

The Left Lane on the approach to the Roundabout - the Lane for Drivers using Exits 1 and 2 - has been blocked off with cones when it is totally unaffected by the single lane closure at Exit 3. ALL traffic leaving Crewe is now having to use the Right Lane - the Lane for Drivers normally using Exits 3 and 4. The traffic queue at 5.25pm yesterday (1st August) stretched all the way back to Crewe Station on Weston Road and all the way down Fourth Avenue onto Gateway Ind. Est. and surrounding roads affected with Drivers trying to find alternative routes. There is absolutely no requirement for ANY lanes on the approach to the Roundabout to be coned off, and certainly not the one on the Weston Road approach as there is only a single lane on each approach that could use Exit 3, therefore, appropriate signage on each approach to inform drivers that David Whitby Way has been reduced to a single lane would be more than sufficient.
