Outside driveway of 124 Manchester Rd, SK9 2JX

Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 16:24, Thu 27 July 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4832627.

I have lived at this address since 1997 and every time we get wet weather, the kerb and pavement flood regularly as the grate in the road by my driveway entrance is permanently blocked; it doesn't need much rain to cause a large amount of standing water, which quite often covers the junction with Bridgefield Ave and can take days to drain away. In the 26 years I've lived at the address, it has always been like this and has never been resolved. I think there must be an underlying issue with the drainage in this spot, which will not be fixed by the Council "jetwash" vehicles. I can see that similar issues have been reported in last few years by other people, but it really needs a proper investigation and solution as it does cause a regular safety issue at the junction with Bridgefield Avenue, especially in Autumn / Winter when the rainfall is heavier and more prolonged.

As I've been affected by this for over a quarter of a century, please could you expedite a permanent solution for this.

Thankyou
