Crossing over Market St outside Barclays Bank

Reported via mobile in the Pelican/Toucan Crossings category anonymously at 12:10, Thu 27 July 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4831462.

Crossing timings were adjusted a few months ago in favour of pedestrians so that the narrow pavement outside the bank did not become congested with people waiting to cross and people wanting to pass around the corner.

Now the lights turn to green for pedestrians to cross within a second or two of pressing the button.

Also after people had crossed and the green man had reverted to red, the lights changed again very quickly when the next people wanted to cross soon after the previos people. This timing has now changed so people are having to wait approx 14 seconds again. So a long time in the rain and as it’s a busy crossing point, the narrow pavement becomes crowded again.

Please reset this timing.

Thankyou.
