From Dark Lane to 30 mile limit sign on Gawsworth Road
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 14:03, Tuesday 4 July 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later.
Council ref: 4748729.
The national speed limit on the road is no longer viable. Cars can be hitting speeds of 50 to 60 miles an hour as the pass the end of Penningtons Lane, a popular lane for walker who then cross at that point on to Gawsworth Road. This morning is a prime example resulting in a crash and a near miss for pedestrians. Inappropriate speeding for the size of the road is a daily problem that will at some point result in further deaths on the road. The crash was attended by 2 fire engines, police and ambulance.
