Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4574220.
Broken and badly uneven pavement especially close to wall. Camber of pavement means tripping can easily put a pedestrian into the road where it is very narrow, causing real danger, especially to children and OAP's, many of which use this pathway all day. This issue was reported back in August '22 and was told there 'was no funding in current financial year' - this unacceptable excuse is no longer valid and rectifying the matter is badly overdue and urgent. Unless urgent works commence soon, this matter will be escalated to local & national press plus right across social media as the council is behaving in a negligent way. Please fix this busy pavement NOW.
Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We deal with defects based on the level of immediate risk. We have assessed the issue and it does not present an immediate risk to highway users at this time. As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.
State changed to: No further action
