Footway towards the school
Reported via desktop in the Footway category anonymously at 08:18, Thursday 27 April 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4491174.
The footpath alongside the A530 near Spund Primary School is in very poor condition and needs clearing/reinstating urgently. The built up debris and overgrowth forces pedestrians to walk on the kerb/road-edge, which is extremely dangerous.
Children use this footpath to get to and from the school bus outside Sound primary school, and are forced to walk dangerously close to fast moving (it’s a 40, not a 30) heavy goods vehicles. I’ve attached a couple of photos, taken from the footpath. You’ll notice that the red LGV has moved onto the other side of the road to pass me on the footpath - obviously this isn’t possible with traffic coming the other way, which places children (and other footpath users) in a very precarious position.
Please can this footpath be reinstated to its full width as a matter of urgency, before an accident happens?
