Chester Road/ Chestergate/King Edward St Junction
Reported via desktop in the Lining category by ceri jones at 12:02, Mon 24 April 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4479497.
I have just issued a Report on this, but failed to include another contributory factor to the danger at this junction, given that Chester Road into Chestergate is a Right Turn, NOT straight on. The road surface covering after the lights and in the centre of the junction curves towards Chestergate in a different colour to the rest of the surface giving drivers an almost subliminal 'message' that they have the Right of Way into Chestergate. There are no road markings ( as per my previous message) to persuade them otherwise. Local drivers will know about this junction no doubt, but 'out of towners' entering the Town from the West will not, therefore putting themselves and others at serious risk. How Insurers sort this out, in the absence of Road markings is an interesting question.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
