Abbey Road at the junction of Elworth Road

Reported via mobile in the Conditions of Signs category by Cllr Nicola Cook at 22:49, Wednesday 19 April 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4463939.

I would be grateful if this could be escalated to the Road Safety Team.

Significant concerns have been raised by residents with regards to the junction. Car drivers need to stop on Abbey Road as the visibility is so poor that you have to stop and look right to check that there are no cars coming from Elworth Road.

Currently it has a give way Road marking and signage. It is my belief that this should be stop lining and signage.

In addition sat navs show Abbey Road to be a continuous Road. At night the give way sign is not illuminated and therefore cannot be seen, and as such adds to the hazard.
