Roadside verge on Byley Lane, opposite properties 1 The Leese, Byley Lane, Cranage, CW10 9LW

Reported via mobile in the Flooding category anonymously at 18:12, Friday 14 April 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4440718.

We have previously reported flooding to our property after heavy rainfall earlier in the year. Professional drainage contractors concluded this was being impacted by the resurfacing of the road and the drainage provision being ineffective. There was no flooding issue prior to the road dressing. An inspector from Cheshire East came to review the issue and mentioned the potential of a block drain away close to the property. From the pictures, water has started to back up in the drain across from our property, and the increased level of the water table is resulting in flood water rising in our front garden each time it rains.

Please note: we have a vulnerable child living at the property and last time we had prolonged rainfall the flood blocked our drive way, making it impossible to leave the property by foot without welly’s.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
