As previous complaints about mud on the road

Reported via desktop in the Slurry or Mud on the Highway category anonymously at 16:41, Monday 20 March 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4336679.

Swineyard Lane where it crosses the M6 is in variably covered in significant amounts of mud. I am adding my voice to the complaints that seem to result in no action from the authorities. The road is a popular cyclist route, being generally quiet. Perhaps some action will at last be taken when some poor cyclist is injured or worse killed by a flying stone mixed in the mud. You ask for politeness, this situation has been going on for too long!

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.

As the problem you have reported is not causing an immediate safety issue we will now look at the best long- term approach for this location. We keep all roads and highway assets safe through our routine inspections. If anything is identified as a risk during a future inspection, we will take action to deal with it as appropriate.
