Swineyard Lane close to Hunters Moon

Reported via desktop in the Slurry or Mud on the Highway category anonymously at 16:32, Friday 10 March 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4299319.

This report is about several things - all related. Firstly, there is excessive mud on the road in both directions from Hunters Moon which appears to be coming from trucks entering and leaving the premises. As well as being all over the road, the mud is also covering the pavement, in the gutter, all over the crash barrier across the motorway. When it's dry and you drive behind someone else, it's like being in the outback with dust everywhere. When it's wet it's a skid pan. I saw an abandoned car which had been in an accident here when it was icy. I pass here every day and it doesn't appear to be being cleaned up at all. Today there was even a large stone in the middle of the road which could be dangerous if not avoided! The second point is whether the trucks involved should actually be on this road. There is an awful lot of activity on a daily basis and the vehicles are very large. They appear to regularly drive over the grass verge (tyre tracks can be seen on the left in both directions) and are damaging this lovely country lane. I'm sure these vehicles must be over the 7.5 tonne weight limit ? Please can someone do something before there's a serious incident here!
