Gulley #790048472 '48473'

Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category by Nigel Dibben at 13:10, Friday 10 March 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4298412.

The drainage from this gulley runs northwest to drop into a 9" drain across the A529 emerging in a ditch on the east side of the road. There is a blockage in the pipe from this gulley approximately 14m north of the grid (as measured by drain rods). As a result, the road drainage is backing up to gulley #790048557 '48558' which is connected to a pond on our land. This pond is now overfull and the water is high enough to affect the foundations of our house. Normally, the pond acts as a buffer storage after heavy rain and then drops down to the same level as the road drainage but this buffer is no longer available and road flooding is likely. Periodically, I manage to clear the blockage with a set of drain rods but so far this winter, the blockage has defeated me.
