Traffic speed - millstone lane

Reported via desktop in the Conditions of Signs category by Anna Burton at 08:05, Friday 3 March 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4278386.

Dear FMS

It has been reported to me by residents that traffic regularly goes over 30 MPH along this road. Children live here and this is a risk to them (and others).

It would be ideal to have signage that encourages people to slow down. It may also be advisable on a congested road such as this, which is also quite narrow, to introduce a 20MPH speed limit (20 is plenty).

I note the effectiveness of Vehicle Activated Speed Signs – (V.A.S) or speed indicator devices (SIDs) that accurately measure the oncoming vehicles speed and displays this value to the driver. A number of variations are available.

Many thanks for your assistance in what is a potentially worrisome situation for residents.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
