Cheadle lane between Keepers cottage drive and Patmos Lane
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 17:09, Tue 28 February 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4271544.
This road has serious subsidence. I have up to twenty photographs with measurements of how the centre of the road differs from the edge . In places the difference is up to 8" - 20cm. Most normal saloon cars touch the centre of the road. Drivers familiar with the problem are passing this stretch on the grass verge which is narrow and unstable. The subsidence of this road is an issue. Sending teams to repair a small pot hole is not solving the problem. This has been an issue now for well over 12 months but is exacerbated by the fact that the bridge end of Cheadle Lane has been closed.

Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.
Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.

We have assessed the issue and added it to our improvement programme for repair over the longer term. This means we are unlikely to do any improvement work here during the current financial year. Our programmes sometimes change if more funding becomes available. You should check our website for any updates. You can find details of the work planned for this location and where it currently sits on the programme through our website: https://www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/ road-repair-programme
