Fence Avenue from the construction site

Reported via desktop in the Footway category by Eileen Furr at 13:49, Tuesday 21 February 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4251900.

David Wilson Homes Development (on the old King's School site on Fence Avenue) are obliged to remove the mud from the highway; a truck moves up and down the road all day, every day. The consequence is severe erosion of the road surface. The resulting grit is thrown onto the pavements by the passage of the truck. Apart from looking a mess it finds its way down our driveways and into our homes. We used to have a footpath cleaning vehicle pass up and down regularly but it no longer comes. Our councillor (Mick Warren) and the developer's agent Andrew Taylor have promised many times that this issue would be addressed but it never happens. I am writing on behalf of myself and all my neighbours on the Avenue below the site towards Hurdsfield Road.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
