From outside 47 Elton Lane the length of Elton Lane towards the Bypass
Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 13:30, Friday 17 February 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4241225.
Currently the main drainage pipe along the highway is silted up and possibly fully blocked. This is causing severe local flooding. Also it results in many of the septic tanks and waste treatment plants along Elton to back-up and flood residential properties.
The inefficiency of the drainage system is creating a risk to health and the environment.
The whole lane's public drainage needs to inspected and immediate action taken to resolve the long standing problems. A jet flush isn't going to be sufficient due to years of neglect.
I suspect a major flush, suck and jet approach is needed as a minimum, but more likely a total replacement of the outdated drains is needed.
