Pavement severely damaged by large vehicle
Reported via desktop in the Uneven Flags category anonymously at 15:42, Wed 8 February 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4215172.
On Laureston Avenue, just outside 40 Wordsworth Drive Crewe, a very large truck has pulled onto the grass verge and onto the pavement. The paving slabs have been decimated and some are jutting into the air. There is a stretch of around six foot where every slab has been broken and now is unsafe. As this is approaching a corner and poorly lit, it presents an immediate danger to anyone out walking in poor light. Enquiries should be made to ascertain the contractor responsible and monies recovered to pay for repairs. This pavement is now extremely dangerous and needs assessing urgently.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
