West Street adjacent to new Countryside housing estate
Reported via mobile in the Zebra Crossing category anonymously at 15:07, Friday 3 February 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4200685.
The road is of poor quality for vehicle owing to many potholes.
In addition the road is dangerous for pedestrians who need to cross to the other side to/from the housing estate. Vehicles used the side roads as rat runs. Traffic coming in/out of those side roads are ignorant to the need of pedestrians with dogs or kids who need to cross safely. The issue is exacerbated at peak school run times. Even people with kids in their cars don’t seem to care about giving way to pedestrians as they are required to.
Adjacent side streets require safe crossing areas.
West Street itself requires safe crossing areas. There are none between near the church and as far down to the turn for Queens Park.
Anyone with a disability is especially severely disadvantaged.
Equally there are no visibility splays for traffic leaving the new estate adding to the traffic danger.
An assessment of the safety is required urgently with a follow up to install crossings, barriers etc. with urgent priority.
