Church Minshull Bridge

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 09:56, Friday 3 February 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4199212.

I first placed this report on the 1st Feb 2023 (reference number 4193279) and received an email on the 2nd Feb 2023 stating that the status of the work had now been changed to 'Fixed'. This is not the case. The repairs to the potholes on the bridge were partial and temporary as suggested in my initial report. The attached two photos provide evidence of this. I include a copy of my report below as repairs to the road remain urgent.

REPORT Repairs to bridge potholes undertaken yesterday [31st Jan] were shambolic. See attached photos - one taken on the 22nd Jan; the other yesterday after 'repairs'. As you will see potholes remain a significant issue here. The condition of the road surface (both on and close to the bridge AND throughout Church Minshull more generally) makes travelling through the village extremely dangerous for all.

There has been a significant increase in the number of heavy goods vehicles travelling over the bridge and through the village. This is resulting in significant vibrations to properties close to the road.

The road needs to be closed and a full repair undertaken as soon as possible; as well as an urgent review of the types of vehicles that should be permitted to use this B road.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
