Heavy traffic causing house to vibrate badly

Reported via desktop in the Noise or Vibration category anonymously at 11:39, Tuesday 24 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4165237.

Since moving into the property we are frequently woken up at night and alarmed throughout the day by sudden intense shaking of the house caused by heavy traffic passing by on Altrincham road. On speaking to our neighbours, they confirm they all experience the same problem. It appears to be caused by lorries, buses, and other large vehicles that pass quickly over these grids outside the front of the properties (we are 9 Wallworth Terrace and they are right outside our house). Traffic on this road travels much faster than the 30mph speed limit anyway, which I don't think is helping at all.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
