No street lights working on A34 under bypass footpath
Reported via mobile in the Light Out category anonymously at 01:38, Saturday 21 January 2023
Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4155416.
Several street lights in a row on the public footpath here are not working. I have reported several times due to safety concerns and I keep being told they will be part of a future programme. However, they haven’t worked since December 2020 so I don’t really understand why I keep being told they’ll be fixed in the future. This footpath is extremely slippy due to recent weather and the fact that it is pitch black on this side is making it extremely dangerous for users. It is impossible to spot ice and other hazards making it unsafe. The roundabout above it (Bollin Valley A34) also has no working street lights meaning there isn’t even any light from the road above lighting up the path. Please can they be repaired now due to safety issues at night. Thank you.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.
We are experiencing a high volume of enquiries and we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.
Thank you for your patience.
