Just as you've crossed the old bridge - Colleymill Bridge - on the A54 heading towards Bosley crossroads.

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 14:47, Wednesday 18 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4144959.

As you've crossed the bridge, the road surface is absolutely terrible: potholes, broken up surface, in the middle of the road, and at the sides. It looks like lines have been painted around defects, but these have faded. The surface continues to be very poor as you carry on. I would say that the whole of the A54 as you leave the recently resurfaced portion through Buglawton is extremely poor. I don't know why the resurfacing didn't include the rest of this road as it is awful.

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
