Reported via desktop in the Carriageway category anonymously at 10:12, Tuesday 10 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4108349.

The numerous potholes on this stretch of the A556 have been reported for months and yet nothing has been done - some reported November 2022. These are causing accident. I hit this pothole in the dark at 6pm on Friday 6 January 2023 causing a large tear in my tyre which immediately deflated and caused me to lose control of the car. Luckily due to no other vehicles being on the carriageway, I did not hit another car and managed to pull the car into a layby.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
