Checkley Lane various places

Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 10:26, Sat 7 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4097364.

The road requires inspection. Carriageway erosion at both edges is causing large ruts/potholes/dips in the area owned by the council. The current ridiculous National Speed Limit on this lane means that some traffic travels too quickly for the bends on this busy lane. There is also very large traffic that uses the lane, along with cycling clubs, horse riders, walkers. When pushed over, if drop into these ruts in a car it is highly likely that road users will either be caused injury or damage to vehicles. The road needs thorough assessment and edge repairs. It is some time since this was actioned. The lane also needs to be put back onto the gritting rota please as a major cut through between two A roads. Thank you.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
