Road completely flooded

Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 10:51, Friday 6 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4094125.

Mow Lane is completely flooded, water is surging up out of several grids, the carriageway is barely usable. This issue has been ongoing for several months, with no attempt being made by Cheshire East Council to fix the issue. Mow Lane is barely usable, the Flash is closed due to this flooding, and the road surface is being washed away. This issue is now becoming unbearable for people who live local to this area, and have to use this road on a daily basis. Can you please give details on what you plan to do about this issue, and when you plan to fix this issue. Driving through this deep flood water everyday is now starting to causing significant damage to vehicles. During the cold weather in December several vehicles lost control here, due to the ice and the gradient at the end of the Flash and Dodd's Lane. This issue needs fixing before more cold weather, its only a matter of time before somebody is seriously hurt here.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
