Outside 65 Audley Road ST7 2QW

Reported via mobile in the Pothole category anonymously at 13:16, Monday 2 January 2023

Sent to Cheshire East Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 4076609.

This pothole is becoming increasing large in size. It has deteriorated due to heavy surface water This water is due to a non- effective road gully Water in the gulley is at road level so even a small amount if rainfall causes the grid to overflow. See pictures above. It is a cycle: the gulley does not drain rainfall / the road floods/the surface water causes erosion of the road and the sure of the pot hole increases. We have experienced large amounts if rainwater in our front garden, hitting our front door and window. My elderly mother stepped outside of our front door on Christmas Day and was soaked from passing traffic due to the large amount if surface water present on the road. 1.1.23 this was reported as an emergency as due to a car parked on tge opposite side of the road the flooding was dangerous to riad users as so severe. The initial problem of the ? Blocked / non draining gulley was reported 22.11.22 There has been several calls to tge Highways dept following the 20 (working) day period as there has been no response or review As a consequence of no action being taken in November when initially reported tge situation has become more worse and will now likely require more work to be undertaken

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting Cheshire East Highways. We have logged your enquiry and passed it to a member of our team.

Our teams are working hard to manage and respond to reports from members of the public.

We are currently experiencing an increase in demand of reported issues along with a temporary reduction in available staff due to Covid-related sickness and self-isolation.

During this time and until the situation improves, we will be prioritising those issues that present most risk to the travelling public. While we normally aim to provide you with a response within 20 working days, response times for all other reported issues may take longer than usual.

    Thank you for your patience.
